I do not ever...EVER...want to see any retailer start their Christmas promotional season before Remembrance Day is over and done.

I do not speak simply of the ceremonies, but the entire day.

I was just at the local Michael's, and not only did they have Christmas merchandise for sale (which I can tolerate), they were playing Christmas music (which I can't).

Retailers here start putting out Christmas stuff in August. It is sad.

They've treated Charles Schulz the same as they did George Orwell: not as a warning of what not to do, but as a guide in how to do what's not wanted by everyone else.

Out West, Remembrance Day *is* a holiday -- for the entire day, not just part of one as is done here.

And yes, I'd rather that the Rush not be deemed to start till *after* that, thank you.

Which province(s) in particular. I remember this not being the case in Saskatchewan when I was in school there, but we did have in-school ceremonies.
