Some random thoughts:

Been muddling through the day, getting lots of walking exercise as a result of assorted shopping errands. I think that if I can keep up this sort of pace, I'll be well on my way to keeping to my doctor's advice on this front.

I am somewhat disappointed with some of the news coming out of NASA lately, although not entirely surprised. Check [livejournal.com profile] james_nicoll or SpaceRef.com for some of the details of this particular root cause. I do hope that the Canadian Space Agency will be among those picking up some of that particular batch of explorational slack.

Also, I've been mulling over the possibility of going to San Diego this year. It's been three years since that last visit, and some of you who remember meeting me in person during that mad weekend will doubtless suspect that I have mixed feelings about my memories of that time, for many reasons I won't go into now. I am led to understand that if I want a room, I'd better move damned quick. This makes me think I should settle for Toronto again and be very happy to do so. We shall see what the fullness of time brings on that score.

More anon...and back to you, friends and neighbours...

Part of me wants to do San Diego at some point in my life, but not this year.

And Toronto would be nice to do, as long as I'm not a vendor.

I've been to SDCC twice so far, 1993 and 2002. Both were experiences worth the time, although I've been hearing enough from various friends that trying for another session at this point seems more than a tad intimidating.

As for Toronto, I've been more attentive to attending the Hobbystar convention in that city. I am seriously considering advice from friends to take in the Paradise Comics-run edition in future, however.

You could always try the Emerald City Comicon. Still small enough to be comfortable, but getting big enough to be lots of fun.

I'll be looking into that one. The main reason for the interest in SDCC involves one of my project partners wanting to meet up in person and it's easier for him to get there than to points elsewhere, apparently.
