I kind of think it mostly means something to people who aren't in a relationship (and feel shitty about being forcefed all this romance crap), or who are in a relationship where they don't get that kind of affection (sex, chocolates, kisses, flowers, dinner, whatever) on a regular basis. Falling into neither group, being in a relationship where I get plenty of affection every day, I kind of don't see the big fuss, and thus my significant other and I are on livejournal and editing kitten videos rather than eating overpriced entres at an overcrowded restaurant.
That said, I do like the festivity of the day, if not the importance. I liked exchanging valentines in school, even if I always gave out far far more than I ever recieved. I liked making the valentines box more than anything. And today, I marked the lids of all the coffees I made with hearts. Happy Valentines from your lovely Tim Hortons girls...
