Well, our team got as far as they could. This time.

Perfect South Park ending to this series, I suspect, would be for the Jays and Dodgers to jointly storm the White House and turn the Vulgarian and his various accomplices over to the Hague.

Commiserating with my fellow Jays fans this morning in any case...and now we get on with the CFL playoffs and the NBA, WNBA, NHL and PWHL regular seasons, right?

Well, yes. For me, any kind of broadcasting of games should be consigned to the specialty sports channels, where those who are interested can enjoy them (or curse at them or whatever). I'm happy when we return to our regularly scheduled programming.

But I did find a piece on the CBC radio morning show interesting, about how many of our idioms are based on baseball - even more than for hockey. Expressions like "Knock it out of the park" or "Striking out." Not sure what sport would be in second place for spawning idioms.

It was a brilliant series and both teams seemed pretty amazing. 10 extra innings!

I was pulling for the Jays, it would have been a beautiful thing. Maybe next year. And yes, it would have been a wonderful South Park ending.
