Street Names in Las Vegas

There's this project I have to track the street names of Ottawa and Gatineau. For a couple of years, I was using Spacing Ottawa as my venue for publishing such information as I could share. Since that's been archived, I suppose I'll have to use Flickr - my username there is "dwight_ew" - and this blog for that project for now.

Anyway, I came across this item about Las Vegas this morning:

There is a whole fleet of streets for a housing development started in 1978 that has Starwars names. My friend Janice grew up on Moff Tarkin Lane.

I also live 2 streets down from Roddenberry Drive. Yes, named after him. There's a bunch of Trek fans on that street and a network of people looking to buy a house when one comes up for sale.

I actually know Henderson, there's a writer's/fandom conference there every year that we've attended and I'm hoping that I can convince my wife to go to this year, she needs the break.

There was a Korean BBQ place where they bring you a tray of meat and you have a grill set in your table, but that was a good 4 years ago. I'd be surprised if they're still around.

In Las Cruces, there's a street called Picacho, and most every time that I see that street sign I say 'PIKACHUUUUU!' But I'm strange that way.
