It seems that intersection where Centretown and Somerset Village meet simply cannot catch a break of late. Witness this latest misfortune reported by CBC News for details.

Thanks for posting this. Taking the bus this morning, I saw the fire trucks and the firemen sitting around that corner - it was all over then, and I couldn't tell what had happened.

I really like that area - it has some of my favourite stores in the vicinity, between The Comic Book Shoppe and the Silver Snail, including Bridgehead, After Stonewall, the Herb and Spice, and that funny little dollar-store on the corner that sometimes has notebooks no one else does. Not to mention Hartmann's, which is a darn good grocery store.

I'd add in Wallack's (http://wallacks.com/) to that list, but I have professional reasons for that choice. :-)

I like Wallack's too - not that I have any artistic talent, sad to say, but it's always fun to browse. And they have art tools I can and do use, like fancy papers and rubber stamps.
