Aauugghh, no! This makes me so sad. Corner Gas is one of my fandoms. The times I visit Toronto from my home in the States, I usually arrange to have lunch with Corner Gas Assistant Director Michael Bowman (who I first met through his being Assistant Director on due South, which is my primary fandom) and I even have some Corner Gas merch that Michael gave me.

For a long time, Saskatchewan was home to me. The first time I'd seen Brent Butt's name on any item of cultural significance was when I was still living out that way, in an edition of Amazing Heroes Preview Special. There was a comic book project from one of the newer, more obscure publishers - I can't recall the name of the series right now - and Brent's name was attached as its writer. The book didn't get much attention from AHPS or from anglophone North American comics readers in general. Little did any of us know, right?

I haven't yet made it to Saskatchewan -- especially would have liked to have gone on one of those organized Corner Gas fans tours.

Brent's publishing company was Windwolf Graphics and the comic book was Existing Earth.
