Stuff During Canadian Thanksgiving 2021 - Part I

Today is World Mental Health Day, for whatever it's worth to any of us. We're mostly trying to watch out for each other here in this corner of Dreamwidth. This is a good thing. I'd like it to continue.

I've applied for three jobs so far this weekend. I'm not sure that I'm sufficiently qualified for any of them, but the people I've sent the applications to will make that decision.

It's raining here in Ottawa-Gatineau. Environment Canada has - as of my original posting of this commentary - forecast an end to that rainfall at some point early this afternoon local time. That would be good.

Laundry is being done here. Vacuuming in the basement has been done anew (finally).

We have what appears to be one-inch-tall (above the ground-line) pine tree of some sort growing amid the stones between our house and one of our next-door neighbours. We're working out how to move, preserve, and grow it so that we can transplant it to a safer-to-housing-foundations location later.

It annoys me that the stated qualifications for many vacancies are, in reality, often less than requirements. Good luck with proceeding on that basis!

Move the tree before its roots get deep enough to be a real pain to dig up. (-:

As for the tree...as soon as we find a proper pot to transplant it into for the winter months, I expect. That might get done tomorrow.

While I did not know that was yesterday, I did something for it as I've still been randomly down over my mother's passing. I went out to White Sands and walked around taking photos, while Lilith Fair CDs streamed through my hearing aids. It was a pleasant time to unwind a bit, though it did make my bedtime a bit late. Afterwards my wife met me at our fav Mexican food place, so a pretty good day, all in all.
