I started reading about this a few days ago, and I was amused.

Hope you enjoy the movie, we'll be waiting until it's free on Dizzy+, which it may be. I'll check when I get home.

I did enjoy Shang-Chi. It is not quite the same story that Steve Englehart and Jim Starlin began decades ago, but that's alright. A lot has changed since that story was published, and Englehart and Starlin are unhappy with the original version themselves for good and proper reasons.

Interesting that the creators weren’t too satisfied with their original creation! Times do change, though, that’s a certainty. Should be fun when we get to see it. This will be the first MCU film that we haven’t seen in the first week or two of opening.

Well, they did use the Fu Manchu novels - if "novels" is the word for them - written by Sax Rohmer as their starting point back in the early 1970's. Marvel let the rights to use characters from those books lapse - with one negotiated exception for the recent reprint collections of the old Master of Kung Fu series - years ago.

The Sax Rohmers were definite pulp, and exploitive was also the word of the day back then, that word spread across many labels.

I first heard about the zebras from the twitter of Eleanor Holmes Norton (DC's non-voting representative in Congress) because she preemptively announced that she was not the one who set the zebras free. It's a bizarre story all around.
