We're still under lots and lots of snow cover here in Ottawa-Gatineau. We're expecting some melting over the next seven days, per the forecast this past hour on Environment Canada, but not expecting a complete meltaway soon.

Life is so different between Toronto/Vancouver and Snowy Canada. Every year when I go to Québec City for Christmas I enjoy the insanity for a week or two and then scurry back to Toronto to enjoy the everlasting fall. If it wasn't for my partner I'd be living in Montréal and enjoying it, but I've grown accustomed to these mild winters.

It's entirely possible that we've officially passed winter and are entering spring. I checked temperatures in Las Cruces as I have a doc appt there Monday: mid-high 70s! Alamogordo was 70 yesterday! We have a lot of snow melt up here on the mountain, but the shady areas still have a lot built-up, which is standard until the days get much warmer.
