Thanks! Birthday drama: I smelled gas when we walked into the house after work today. Just a hint, but enough to make me worry. Then I went outside and struggled through the snow around to the side of the house to clear the dryer vent, gas pipe and meter, etc, all of them buried and invisible. Smelled a little hint of gas outside by the meter, too. So I called the emergency line and waited a couple of hours for someone to come by. Turned out that a bolt kind of thing on a bit of the meter used for testing the pipe had cracked, and it was easily replaced. So I was right to worry but lucky that it wasn't something serious.

I think I may be almost ready for the snow to disappear.
