OBITS/COMICS: Jim Janes

This was the first LSH artist I really knew to pay attention to. I first saw his work in that Secrets of the Legion of Super-Heroes mini-series back in 1981. It was the original version of that team, pre-Crisis, and the mini-series covered the backstories of the members and the group as a whole. And DC was doing mini-series before Marvel picked up the habit, clearly.

I don't know much about his history as either comics artist or animator otherwise. Just this. I never got to meet the guy, not that I can remember. And because it was the Legion that he introduced me to, it matters to me that he's gone now.
