And I just got informed by Firefox Monitor that, on 1 January 2017 - two months before I permanently called it quits with LiveJournal - my account there was hacked.

"What data was compromised:

Passwords
Email addresses
Additional information, including: Usernames

Breach data provided by Have I Been Pwned"

I didn't even know they were watching for this. I should have known.

The breach only came to light recently if it's the same one i am aware of.

It may well be.

I'm probably bolting the door after the horse knocked it down. And I shut down my LJ account three months later, anyway. The damage is long since done, I expect.

The important thing is to not reuse passwords, especially for any sites that involve credit cards/banking info or really important personal information.
