Ten Years Post-Ottawa Quake

It's been ten years.

Two federal elections. The pub where I was when it happened has shut down permanently (pre-Pandemic). Friends have died, new friendships have been made, all manner of stuff happening since then.

It shouldn't shock me, but it takes me by surprise anyway.

I remember feeling the earthquake as far west as Oshawa; it might have got my attention because I was in between night shifts.

Because of Patty Boland Pub-as-was being about five minutes' walk from the US Embassy - if you turned right after leaving, it was right at the western end of Clarence Street - I wondered, for a few seconds, if something horrific might have happened there. That wondering didn't last, of course, because I realized there was another possibility.
