It's in place already here and a lot of people don't seem to realise that further regulation, the stuff that replaced the Defence of the Realm Act (DORA) from wartime in the eighties is already there to be used. That could put troops on the streets and allow mass arrests........

Interesting to note the DORA situation for UK purposes.

Good. It shouldn't. I've read it in detail and it's a terrifying piece of legislation that's unnecessary as long as the provinces are responsible.

And the provinces and territories' current governments do all seem to be on the same page as the feds here, at least for the moment. Even Kenney and Ford. Kenney still keeps trying to stick "heed Big Oil" lines into his own scripts on the subject, but even so...

Do you have any recommendations for info on Canadian or British civil liberties concerns right now? Cause my desire for a world where people are alive seems to be opposed to a desire for a world where governments/businesses don't spy on me
