There's so much that's hugely important happening in India right now and is it me or is it barely being reported in the Canadian press? Given the huge Indian population here. I'm only really hearing about it from my Desi friends.

You're right on this one, as far as Canadian-based news services are concerned. That we have access to more than those...well, it's on us to figure out which sources based outside of Canada can fill that gap in a reliable fashion.
