That is very interesting, but the thing that I found curious is the implication that Canadian military bases aren't thoroughly fenced off?

Niantic should have an easy interface for government and private groups to be able to upload information to make areas no-gos.

DND does try to keep their facilities secure, but budgetary, social and technological limits are real things.

There is one thing I am sad about in this regard, seeing as I used to be able to walk through the main lobby-floor of DND HQ from one end to the other without restrictions when I first moved to Ottawa back in 1985. Gradually, that ended by degrees and it's more of a fortress now than it was.

As for Niantic, yes, your suggestion has merit. I don't know if they already have that set up.
