Anyway, Can-Con wrapped up well enough for me. I didn't take in the Aurora Awards ceremonies on Saturday night, but I understand that some karaoke fun was orchestrated afterwards. And with only a day's notice that I know of, too.

So...I don't know if I'm going to be able to attend next year. Various issues in play there, which I may or may not discuss here.

And yes, I'm voting in the federal election on my way home from work. The polling station I'm expected to visit is directly on the last leg of the transit routing, so I can't give myself that excuse for missing out on that.

No, I will not be watching the live coverage on TV or listening to it over the radio. Stress management dictates this, not a will to ignorance.

People need to understand that watching a thing doesn't change the outcome of the thing. There is no difference in political engagement between people who vote, go to bed, and read the results the next morning, and people who vote, stay up all night, and find out at midnight.
