Okay phew. At least in the UK, it's tomorrow. With results not out until probably Sunday? Because counting is hard?

While most people don't pay much attention to European Parliment elections, these are usually important EU elections for Reasons (at least in the UK, domestic and international signaling and realities). So getting the word out to people that they need to vote tomorrow is a good idea!

Counting is even harder in India/Bharat, it seems...because about a billion people with voting rights are up for grabs there. Hoping that Modi and the BJP got evicted from government, even if they can't be completely evicted from their country's parliament just yet.

I've been learning to pay attention to EU elections because CETA being signed by Canada and the EU, and because BBC News, Reuters, CBC News and the Guardian - among others - have been training me up in paying proper attention to this sort of detail.

I <3 The Guardian. Though I like my politics sassy and partisan, so I subscribe to The Newstatesman instead.

Turns out, much to all of our dismay, international politics matters.

I am considering taking out a subscription to their weekly magazine edition here in Canada because that's what's available here in addition to the website. Finances permitting, of course. May that day be sooner than later.

Yes. I'm finally at the point of finacial stability to pay for some of the services I use and content I consume, but I'm not at the kind of job security to pay for everything I'd like to support. (Looks somewhat guiltily at the free Dreamwidth subscription).
