I'd say a quarter of them were dressed as Marvel characters (Spider-Man in the MCU version of the "Iron Spider" suit, Ant-Man, Wasp(?), Captain America, etc.), at least one ninja, and another dressed as a banana. That's what comes immediately to mind.
Nothing wrong with superheroes as role models for kids. I approve.
My friend claims that all superhero stories are fascist at heart, promoting the myth of the strong individual destined to lead, but I stand by my statement.
Considering how several of the most prominent of the super-heroes were created by Jews, some of who served in the Allied forces in WW2...I'm inclined to stand with you.
Wow! I don't think I've seen that many since the '80s at my parent's house! I never remotely had more than ten or so at my condo in Phoenix, I don't recall any at my apartment in Las Cruces, but I was only there 2-3 years, and they don't trick or treat up here as it was 30 degrees when we got home at 6pm last night and there was 2-3" of snow on the ground.
