A bit of good butterfly news

I've been spotting what look like monarch butterflies rather often over the last month or two in eastern Ottawa. I'm hoping that counts as good news, ecologically.

I thought it was too (I've been seeing a bunch around here) but apparently it has to do with winds and natural cycles rather than any permanent rebound in the population.
