The world is going through a major spasm of suck right now, and I don't know how it will end. Getting rid of shites like the alleged POTUS and his ilk is a beginning, but it's going to take time, and a lot of suffering is going to happen before it gets better.
Even though Fox News wasn't able to expand to Canada directly, it is available, and the ideas of White Privilege definitely transcends borders. I just got back from driving to Phoenix, about 1,000 miles round trip and about 16 hours in the car, listened to a lot of podcasts on political extremism. One particular podcast on Inquiring Minds I thought was quite enlightening, it was episode 6 from 2013: "Jonathan Haidt - This is Why Your Political Opponents Hate You". But he's looking specifically at American politics, and it's a dated perspective of a system that's only gotten worse, so I'm not sure how applicable it would be up there. I think his book that they were discussing was The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion. I intend to look for a copy.
