I think it's already happened to me, effective end of May.

It was specifically talking about McDonalds, Panera(?), and one other fast food org that were adding order kiosks to their restaurants. Two of them said they were not decreasing staff, while Panera said they were increasing staff because of the increase in orders. It has been reported that millennials prefer ordering from a kiosk to having to interact with a person, which I don't understand but whatever floats your boat.

Date: 2017-03-08 08:32 pm (UTC)Yeah, my last interview was at the end of January for a part time weekends-only position at a rifle range that paid a whopping $8.50 an hour. Got a nice letter, didn't get the job, and the job is still up on the county web site. And I would have had to buy a sidearm if I had gotten the job, so that's another $600-800 out of pocket. So call it 80 hours or so of work to just cover buying a sidearm.
