I saw Miss Sloane at the cinema last night. Worth the time, worth the money...for reasons of timing more than anything else. More people should see it.

I think I'm going to skip Designated Survivor on TV for reasons of emotional health. Maybe things will change in time, but for now?

Some sad news I want to note: we're losing The Vinyl Cafe on Radio One for the time being. It seems that Stuart McLean's cancer issues are more stubborn than we'd all hoped. Hoping that he and his medical team have better hunting this go-round...

I really liked Designated Survivor, at least the first few episodes, but yeah, watching it now is kind of like walking on democracy's grave or something. It's a very weird feeling.

I hear you. Just seeing the last fifteen minutes of last night's installment - a cliffhanger involving a sniper - was disturbing.

I'm holding on. Focusing on laundry, shopping, clearing the driveway and drawing today.

Bloody hell. I haven't been a regular listener to The Vinyl Cafe for a while now, but I was saddened to learn of his retirement, and doubly-so to find out the reason for it is cancer. That man brought tears to my eye more often than I would care to admit (and laughter many more times than that). Here's hoping he can pull through ...

As I've said before, Stuart McLean is the most ruthless storyteller Canada has produced to date. Others are as ruthless in that trade, but none moreso than him. That is never going to be a complaint.

It will be a very good thing if he pulls through.

"Ruthless" is an interesting characterization; I'll need to think about that. Or maybe, read some of his stories, rather than just listen to them.
