You know, I actually get mail delivered to my door where I am living right now. It's rather nice, something I'm not accustomed to!

In all honesty, the "supermailboxes" -- should DC sue over that nickname? -- do provide an excuse for neighbours to meet one another that otherwise might not be afforded them, but there's something good to be said for the charms of the older tradition as well.

Yeah, I was surprised when that's how the mail started coming through, but it is nice!

*nods* That's true. They're really not all that bad - I mean, you're generally not very far away from the nearest one, so it's not like you usually have to go too far to get your mail. And it does give people an excuse to go outside for a couple minutes.

If there's one thing I can do with more of, it's regular exposure to (relatively) fresh air. The walk to the corner mailbox helps with that, in addition to the "chat with your neighbours" deal.
