Yes and the really ugly part of this is it usually costs the taxpayer more to get a private company to do this work, despite promises of savings.

Ask people if they like spending double or more for the same services and see how they respond.

I suspect we both know the answer to this. At least half of those of us in Ottawa's civic boundaries who voted in this month's local elections for city hall do as well, if the published results at ottawa.ca are anything to go by.
