I'm curious to see what they come up with on the 9th of September.

The one disappointment I do carry from this news is regarding the Starlight Channel. This was the one backed by Gross, Lantos and Cronenberg, if memory serves, intended as an "all-Canadian-movies" channel. I was hoping they would be among the Worthies this time 'round.

Do you suppose that submissions of public support for reconsideration of that one would be well-received between now and the 9th?

It's not entirely out of the realm of possibility. The CBC article seemed to suggest that the CRTC were not happy with the current framework for mandatory Canadian content, though admittedly, they seemed to be referring to it in regards to Canadian News coverage.

I'd certainly like to see an "all-Canadian-movies" channel, of course I'd also like an SF channel that show SF too. ;-)

I think Archer's slipped through mainly through love of the in-genre work of its main star. Forgivable, that.

Some of that so-called reality programming could take a hike, however, 'tis true. I'll make an exception for those competitions between makeup-designers, costumers, and so forth, seeing that we want to encourage skills development of the next generation's creative talent in-genre.
