Whiplash of a sort and some other nerdlike notes

Those of you who watch my Facebook scribblings already know this. Anyway: the rest of you remember me talking about being let go effective this Friday the other day?

Post-poned two weeks.

The rest of the plans are still on, of course.

Meantime: dandelion seeds were starting to fill the Ottawa-Gatineau air this afternoon. This triggered considering the idea of getting not-quite-surgical-masks from the local pharmacy so as to avoid inhaling them in clumps. Such a decision, while absurd, may yet be made. The coughing jags and whatnot of Allergy Season are bad enough during allergy season without this added into the mix.

Got a bunch of the photos I took from last Sunday's Jane's Walk in New Edinburgh uploaded to Flickr. I think I want to ask a couple of people about the ones I took on the ByWard Market and Old Ottawa South tours first before I upload those.

Yep, saw the Nimoy/Quinto Audi commercial earlier today. It was funny. Age and treachery for the win. :-)

Wondering if we'll get to see a map of the latest movie version of Metropolis as filmed for Man of Steel. Any bets?

Do you have cottonwood trees there? We get large quantities of fluff in the air from our cottonwood trees.

...I don't believe we do.

We do have lots of dandelions around Ottawa-Gatineau, though. And normal grasses of various kinds, which seem to have been the normal root of my allergy problem.
