I finally saw Bon Cop, Bad Cop tonight at the local Empire movie-house.

As I suspected: worth the money and the time.

The funny parts, at their best -- and I say this as a compliment to all involved -- left me laughing so hard I started coughing. Hard. Even when the humour got downright morbid, as it will in a mystery/action film where your hero-cops are chasing a serial killer.

As I said to [livejournal.com profile] cath a little while ago, if you liked 48 Hours and/or the Lethal Weapon movies, you'll like this one.

If you want a full, spoiler-laden list of reasons...well, let me know. I'll see how I can best accomodate you...

PS: Anyone here been able to safely find out if the soundtrack is DRM-free?

I am so glad to find someone who enjoyed this film as much as I did!
Actually, I dragged my billingual and somewhat reluctant teenaged son along with me and we both laughed until our sides hurt. Absolutely hilarious explanations of how to curse in French! We had seen Miami Vice about 2 weeks earlier and were very disappointed in it. In my opinion this movie laid all those in this genre hanging on the US/Canada border!

Yeah, that was one of the highlights, wasn't it? :-D

I have to pity the guy playing Therriault(?), the guy in the trunk, in that scene, because I keep imagining the production crew having to redo that scene over and over until they got it right!
