One friend lost a husband today. Another found out on his birthday that he has cancer. Some friends in Alberta are worried that they might wind up with open bigots running their province's government next week. Assorted other friends are facing troubles great and small of their own across the planet.

Beginning to feel luckier than I have a right to be right now.
