A Different Sort of Remembrance
Nov. 20th, 2010 08:50 pmI'm led to understand by friends here and elsewhere and by the news that today's the Transgendered Day of Remembrance.
That there needs to be such offends me, because the coerced suffering of some of our friends, family, co-workers, neighbours at the hands of others made it so. I've never been fond of bullies or their hobby or the worldviews that bring them to that hobby. Never will be. Because they're Wrong.
For those who need help coping with the pain, for those who want to unlearn the habit of inflicting it? Both of your camps need and deserve whatever help the rest of us can give.
If I forget this, remind me.
