Hither and Yon

Well, it's been a busy week.
Didn't start out too well digestion-wise, and I think I'm dropping KFC from my diet for good and all as a direct consequence. Second time in a month that such had happened, so why take any chances? A shame, really, given how much I've enjoyed the taste of their product over the decades. I'll miss that taste.
I'm still working on that street names/history project for Spacing Ottawa. First real installment will, I think, be sooner than later based on discussion with my editor today. You'll get the "heads-up" on when as soon as I know.
Have you ever heard of note-taking by the public being banned in a courtroom before? I hadn't before I'd seen this report in the Hamilton Spectator on the court proceedings re: the G8/G20 fallout. "Unnerving" is a good word for my reaction to the news.
Jay Baruchel, who made for an enjoyable two hours or so worth of movie-watching in The Trotsky back in the spring, is getting an ACTRA award. Good on him!
Some recommended reading: Union Station, by Joe Fiorito of the Toronto Star. It's a collection of tales of lives lived in the metro Toronto region that Fiorito's picked up over the years leading up to publication back in 2006. I got to it four years late, but I finally got to it. Worth some time, worth some cash if you can spare it, too.
(The ISBN code? 0771047614 9780771047619 )
More later...or sooner, depending on your reactions...
