Seeing as strangemaps is on my friendlist feed, and alasdair was speaking of how and why he valued maps, it seemed a good moment to post this particular work in progress and training exercise...

Current R.E.B.E.L.S. gospel about their homeworld's name or lack thereof aside, the Dominion of Elia and its ruling species, the caste system-worshipping Dominators, are long-standing adversaries of the Legion of Super-Heroes in several versions of their continuity.

Not bad. The Dominion region is a little greenish compared to the legend on the map.

Who occupies the Galactic Core?

Yeah. I'm not sure how that happened, although I wonder if invoking the "Overlay" function on that particular object in Illustrator didn't have something to do with it. Still getting used to that software, so some further fiddling with may be called for.

Not sure that any species or star nation - may as well crib from David Weber-speak for this discussion - occupies the Galactic Core in any version of the DCU. Or can do so safely. Referral to the likes of John Wells, Peter Sanderson, Mark Waid et al. may be required here.

About that overlay thing?

Now that I've taken another look, I'm sure it's the overlay function's side effects. There's likely a blue tinge in that NASA-derived galactic map from Astronomy Picture of the Day that I didn't count on.

Oh well...
