Paul Jay, one of CBC's tech reporters, has an interesting question about how low a price can one realistically sell a laptop computer for these days.

james_nicoll pointed up an article on Reuters UK on research suggesting the possibility of Alzheimer's Disease being another variant of diabetes.

Looks like the buses are starting to run again two days ahead of originally announced schedule: this Saturday. Looking forward to my first trip into Centretown via transit in two months. I really am. vonandmoggy's Moggy can alert her weekend employer that I'll be in to pick up kradical's new Star Trek novel, A Singular Destiny.

Probably one or more of the various flavours of Linux. That would explain a good chunk of the price drop, via the lack of license payments to Microsoft.
