Does anyone remember whether this was one of the movie theatres in Saskatoon that showed Return of the Jedi? I remember seeing it in that city, but can't recall which theatre?

The theatre that showed it in Ottawa no longer exists. It's now a grocery store expansion with an underground car park.

Nuts. I got the two mixed up. Both are now defunct...and that's a sad truth right there.

The Elmdale (not Elmvale) still lives on. It's been converted into an evangelical church though, so it would have to be promptly and properly fumigated were it ever became a proper moviehouse again.

Broadway is more artsy and indie stuff now, but I don't know about when RotJ came out. It could have been at Capitol; it seems more the place.

I'm sorry. And I know the feeling too well, as the place has a lot of personal resonance in my own family tree.

I keep thinking of Broadway for some reason, though. Was Wizard's Corner - the Saskatoon role-playing game shop I remember being advertised in Dragon back then - on the same street?

The only RPG shop I know of is the Dragon's Den, which is on 8th and Louise (about 12 blocks from Broadway Theatre).
