Some Meanderings on Broadcasting

dewlineI've been helping out quietly on a volunteer basis with a new outfit on the web: PublicBroadcasting.ca. Not much really, just the banner's logo here, a couple of recommendations on other weblogs to add links to there...little things.
I have to admit that I do believe that little things can add up in a big and useful way, which is why I helped out. I think that CBC and other organizations of similar intent are worth maintaining as part of Canada. They contribute in a positive way, when allowed to do so.
If we didn't have CBC to kick around, we might not have had H2O last year, to name one example off the top. A good mini-series put together by Paul Gross, John Krizanc, Charles Binamé and a near-literal host of other talents. I just picked up the DVD set at the local Coles today(and my thanks to the staff there for helping me nail down that it was the DVD I wanted).
It still works a year later as a political SF drama, a thriller, a cautionary tragedy...and a good ripping yarn at heart. For me, at least. Plus, it shows off my hometown-by-choice in a way that it doesn't usually get the chance at.
Just a thought.
