Concerning the CBC and its future...
Oct. 16th, 2011 08:00 pm...particularly the continuing attempt to inflict the question of whether or not the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation can or should have one at all.
I still say "Hell, YES!"
I am admittedly biased in this. I've accepted money for courtroom artist services I provided them in years past. I have been and am now a fan of several of their TV and radio programs. I make use of their news service's web components regularly via this Livejournal and in other places across the Net.
The CBC continues to be both useful and entertaining to me, providing this Canadian citizen value for taxes paid and spent.
In that spirit, despite not being a member or supporter of the Liberal Party of Canada, I'm linking to a petition on their website:
http://petition.liberal.ca/hands-off-our-cbc/
I ask all Canadians sharing my opinion of the CBC to co-sign this petition with all possible speed. We may have less time to lose than we hope and believe on this matter.
If you live in any other country and also find the CBC both useful and entertaining to have around, I suggest you contact the CBC and provide whatever endorsement you can legally provide in good conscience. The additional support will, I think, be helpful to the personnel they send to report to Parliament in the very near future.
