Justin Beach suggests the idea of "secrecy warrants" - yes, a procedure for classifying governmental information along the same lines as getting search warrants and arrest warrants - in the wake of the Afghan Detainee Scandal. Go take a look and tell Justin what you think of the idea.

Evan Thornton notes a spike in the number of major fires across Ottawa. And that was before this morning's Problem down in the Glebe. I've been to the neighbourhood of that bank branch more than a few times over the years, and I don't like what happened to it as anything worth doing. At all. Also, [livejournal.com profile] fajrdrako lives in the general area, and I strongly dislike thinking of her or our mutual friends being at risk!

On a more entertaining note, [livejournal.com profile] warren_ellis points up a map that Paramount put together marking which parts of California they preferred in-house for locations shoots where the locale mimics another part of the world conveniently closely enough. Considering all the shows where Vancouver and Toronto have stood in for other parts of this world - and more than a few others besides! - I'd be interested in seeing similar maps for those regions!

So...seems that death by Excalibur - both the sword and the woman wielding it - still wasn't as final for Dracula-616 as a lot of us had hoped. See Newsarama for what details there are.

More later...
