Somerset House, December '07 - II
Dec. 23rd, 2007 12:49 pmIt hurts to see the building in this state of wounding and uncertainty.
I'd only ever visited the inside of the ground floor about...a half-dozen times at most that I can recall, back when the Duke of Somerset/Lockmaster tavern operation was in play. A couple of pool tables for me to relearn what little I remembered of the game's rules, and a menu that was pretty much standard for those establishments back in the day. I cannot tell you about the rest of the building to save my life or anyone else's, and it makes me sad to admit to that.
I've read and heard conflicting reports on the owner's opinion of and plans for the place over these last months. I only know for a certainty this one thing, and it is entirely my own selfish opinion: I would hate to see this building fall completely down, never to be rebuilt.
