Are there any stars within 1-5 ly of a direct spline between GJ 9247 (Satterfeld) and UCAC2 12366750 (Colil)?

Yes, this is probably a question for players of Elite Dangerous at the moment, or someone who knows their way around Gaia Sky or other planetarium-software much better than I.

There's a thing from a favourite fanfic webcomic series that I want to work into the map.

I want to learn astronomy, particular what I call "local" astronomy. I currently define that term as within 100 light years, which is within the range of your example. This is the sort of thing that I'd like to know off the top of my head someday. Sadly, I currently don't even have the skills (much less the current attention) to explore it. :(

Star Trek purposes seem to define "local space" as up to 500 ly from Sol in any direction. There's certainly lots of stuff going on outside that radius - see DS9, VOY and Prodigy for some examples.

The neighbourhood I'm looking at right now is roughly 100-150 lightyears away, in an "arc" from psi Fornacis and Acamar to the "south" of Galactic Equatorial and going towards 65 Leonis in the "north".

That said, I empathize with you on the skills aspect of things.
