Corporate Churn: A Sidebar

Before I went to Montréal to attend Con*Cept, I picked up one of those new-style audio recorder gadgets from the local Source by Circuit City branch store, one of the outlets that used to operate under the Radio Shack label in Canada. It's an Olympus WS-311M and it's a pretty good gadget to have in case I have to do interviewing for that upcoming web column on Canadian science fiction fandom "on the fly". (Of course, I have to remember to pack the thing first!)

So now I've learned that the chain whose store sold me that gadget not a month ago is in financial trouble.

I hope they're able to get it together again. Because their in-store people did pick a good gadget to sell me when I needed to find the likes of it quickly.
