Making any resolutions beyond - maybe even including - that one seems like an efficient way of begging the universe for trouble. Which we're going to get anyway.
I don't do New Years resolutions. I can make one reasonable-sized habit change at a time, if I want a reasonable chance of the change actually sticking. One professional quoted 6 weeks to me as the time it takes for a habit to "set", making it counterproductive to start another for that first 6 weeks. (I imagine the time is actually a bit variable, and that's an average or a guesstimate.) So my goal is approximately one improved habit per (Wiccan) sabbat, but not tied to the sabbat cycle.
Currently I'm working on a set of improvements to dental hygiene recommended by my dentist. Once I get electric toothbrush use solid, I'll start the next change on her list. These changes jumped the queue on other health-related changes, after I had a three cavity check up in 2022. (Prior years tended to be at most one. Then I had chemotherapy, and it seems to be the gift that keeps on giving, as far as dental health is concerned.)
