Talking over other people during conversations.

I've been trying to stop doing that for some time now. It's bothering me more and more when I find myself backsliding.

For Jews this is considered normal and it's awkward if people don't do this.

I sometimes wonder about my maternal grandmother's side of the family and their backstories in eastern Europe. Whether or not there were conversions at gunpoint or swordpoint however many centuries ago. In this political climate, I wonder what consequences there would be for following up on Mom and Dad's genealogical research before Dad died.

It's a problem for a lot of people, and it's especially a problem for talking over women!

Everybody needs to be very careful about the latter.

It's something I struggle with as well, but frankly if I didn't do that I'd just get talked over a LOT. It's very frustrating. Sometimes I just give up on joining in a conversation.

And it can be hard to tell when talking over someone is incredibly rude vs just a social norm.
