What's Going On With Uhura?

Based on material released from the Star Trek: Picard art department in recent weeks as well as casting on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, I am starting to wonder what sort of longer-term plans are in the works about Nyota Uhura.

I was moderately surprised she became a Captain, actually. I always figured she'd end up in Starfleet Intelligence. Still, cool.

The "Novelverse" that just got wrapped up via Coda did have her get to admiral's rank via that department.

Noting this: the ship she was described in "The Star Gazer" as becoming captain of was also one of Picard's early duty assignments. And as for that ad hoc task force formed up around Rios' USS Stargazer? One of the ships in that task force is named for her too.

I'd love a Uhura-centric show about her adventures as captain. And make it weird. Cast Janelle Monae as Uhura.
