So, like with what the Green Revolution was to agriculture, I propose that we are in a Screen Revolution in the age of Mass Media. The question is, what shall be the nature of the electronic Silent Spring? What locusts and adaptive malware await? Will Google rise to become the next Monsanto?

We've already got concerns about surveillance tech on several fronts: authoritarian governments in several dozen nation-states, people in democratic nations wanting us to move to authoritarianism, and Apple's announcements during this past week.

Ergo, the Silent Spring aspect would be top-down controls and the removal of "undesirables", resulting in the elimination of liberty of action and expression.
