Okay but let's redraw with the arrows pointing in the direction of who controls/influences who:

RC is just a content syndication pool, and it's at the bottom of a large pyramid. No one at Thomson Reuters takes orders from RC, and definitely no one at Woodbridge even cares what they do down there. Their fortune is made in the West, what benefit would they get from ruining the trust they have here by mixing with Putin?

What benefit would Putin get from making sure they had no choice in the matter?

How patient is he prepared to be to make that happen? Or even the appearance of making it happen? The trust here is already falling apart, going by message traffic on Twitter.
