It's reasonably effective but not a miracle cure- the UK has found another useful one which is a standard drug ,cheap and in mass production and available worldwide so nyer to the orange one!

Alas, while Dexamethasone is cheap-as-chips and works, it's only effective in reducing the death toll along ICU patients, both on oxygen and on forced ventilation. Minor cases, not so much. (It cuts mortality by 30% among the worst affected, apparently by reducing/preventing the cytokine storm that rips the vascular lining to shreds.)
