I am hearing on CBC Radio One about the new rules re: passenger service on the airlines. It took the Time of Pandemic to get the airlines to finally give passengers that long-needed leg room, apparently.
The airlines have been focused on stock buybacks, board salaries, and share performance. Now they're going to have to spend money on their fleet. I bet they're just seething and trying to figure out how to get someone else to pay for it.
You're probably right. Not that it's going to matter to me. I've no plans to travel anywhere by airplane for the rest of my life, regardless of what happens about affordability, security theatre, work needs, etc.. There's maybe one exception I have in mind involving an offer someone I know of from Flickr once made re: getting my own set of aerial reference photos of Ottawa-Gatineau. The logistics of getting to that particular airplane were already difficult pre-Pandemic.
