Resolutions?

It's been an exhausting day for a number of reasons. Some of them tied to the dayjob search, others to the comics work, still others to the Damnable Basement Project now also in progress.
Someday - decades from now if at all - I might explain those reasons in full. Or I may just have a lawyer withhold them for publication after my own death. I haven't made up my mind on that one yet. But I'm not going to talk about that right now. I am going to discuss some kind of goal-setting for the year ahead.
I don't really know how many of these I'm going to be able to manage this year, but...
Art Goals
Health Goals
Mind-Stretching Goals
And there's the list of goals to start the year with. To be amended at need or whim, of course.

But I'm not going to talk about that right now. I am going to discuss some kind of goal-setting for the year ahead.
I don't really know how many of these I'm going to be able to manage this year, but...
Art Goals
- Get Local Hero # 2 thru 4 done and out the door this year.
- Get more paying illustration work in general, and if possible make it happen in comic books.
- Make some concrete progress on finishing my Great Canadian Space Opera novel and getting publication rights sold. Am I really going to leave the field to
matociquala, Matt Watts' Canadia: 2056 and
rob_sawyer_blog, as good as all of that stuff in print and on the radio (in Matt's case) is? That sub-genre needs more material from more people! And one of those people should be me! *ahem*
Health Goals
- More exercise. Whether that's from house-cleaning and its sequelae, perambulating around the city, some limited weight-lifting, or something else to be thought of by anyone else...
- Lose some more weight. I don't buy into the body-mass index theory completely right now, but my doctor does have a good idea about some limited degree of weight-loss being a good thing. (Linked with the above health agenda point, of course.)
- Calm and focus.
Mind-Stretching Goals
- Explore more of this city I live in. It's something I manage to achieve, by accident and design, every year. Doesn't mean it shouldn't stay on the list, though. I like this town, and I want to see more of it. (Doesn't mean that it has to keep expanding its urban acreage for me to do so, though. More on that point another time.)
- Finish one of my font-design projects and start a new one from scratch. Possibly, this also belongs in the Art Goals section, but never mind that.
- Learn one additional software skills set. In full, if possible.
- Keep the friends I've got.
