Or, in its one-word form, "fullstack". I've seen the term appear in several ads on multiple job-search services. Is this a good enough explanation of the concept for a layperson coming to it fresh?
In by experience a "full-stack" developer means someone who has knowledge / experience with all the levels of a web-development context specifically, and not of other contexts (e.g. it is not used to refer to knowledge of a general three-tier architecture for enterprise application development).
